Ultimate Recycling Machine

Trash for Teaching brings hands-on science, engineering, and art to communities in ways that inspire recycling, reuse, and collaboration. Using re-purposed materials, participants design and build a device that transports recyclables into a recycling bin, and maybe way beyond it! This is a collaborative experience where students and/or adults explore the engineering design process to re-think what we overlook every day.

What Goes Where?

Community Sustainability & Sorting Education through relay races that make recycling relevant and engaging. Participants have 60 seconds to run back and forth guessing what goes where, one material at a time, tossing items in bins, and racing back for the next material. When time is up, points are awarded for correct placement, explanations are given for incorrect placement, & everyone leaves with a lasting memory about “What Goes Where!”
